Today we are going to learn the months of the year in Spanish, how to say your birthday in Spanish, and how to ask about someone else’s birthday. You will also learn the Mexican Sign Language for these words along with a new song to help you memorize the months! Songs always help with memorization.
Why is learning the months in Spanish important? If you think about it we use time and date vocabulary on the daily. You use it when talking about the past but also when setting up plans for the future. We are constantly talking about dates in our daily conversation!
In Spanish, you say the number before the month. For example October 23rd would be: el 23 de octubre. Months in Spanish are not capitalized. If you want to say that the party is on Friday, December 5th it would be “la fiesta será el viernes el 5 de diciembre”. If you would like to learn the days of the week in Spanish check out our days of the week lesson!
You can print out these months of the year posters to hang up on your fridge or in your school room to help teach! You can find more helpful resources like this when you sign up to be our Patron!
