Sound familiar?

You want your kids to speak Spanish. You just don't know where to start.

"I don't speak Spanish myself."So how are you supposed to teach it, let alone know if they're saying it right?
"We bought worksheets. They fizzled."A pile of printables isn't a plan, and by week three everyone's lost interest.
"My kids are different ages."Running two separate Spanish lessons is not happening in your week.
"I don't have time to build a curriculum."You need it already planned — not another project to manage.

That's exactly what this was built to fix.

How it works

Open the book. Teach the lesson. That's it.

Three things make this different from the worksheet packs you've tried.

👩‍👧‍👦

Teach every age together

Every week comes with two lesson plans and two worksheets: one for K–3rd, one for 4th–8th. Same theme, right level for each child. One lesson, not three.

🎧

You don't need to speak Spanish

29 short videos teach you — the parent — how to pronounce every vocabulary word before you teach it. Ready-made slide shows illustrate each week's vocab as you present it, and answer keys are included.

🌵

Real Spanish, real culture

Written by a native chilanga from Mexico City, so your kids learn the language the way it's actually spoken, without an American accent.

The result

By the end of the year, your child can…

Name colors, numbers, body parts, family members, animals, food and clothing — in Spanish.
Talk about the weather, the seasons, the days of the week and the months of the year.
Describe their home, their school and their community using real sentences.
Use prepositions and action words to say what's happening, not just name things.
Express how they feel (estoy feliz, estoy cansado) and ask how someone else is.
Pronounce it properly, having learned it from a native speaker.

Mamá Chilanga
Who wrote this

Hi — I'm Natalie.

I grew up in Mexico City. Chilanga is what you call someone from there. I've been teaching Spanish for fifteen years, and I wrote this curriculum for the parents who kept telling me the same thing: "I want my kids to learn Spanish, but I don't speak it."

So I built the thing I'd want if I were you. A year that's already planned and works for all your kids at once. Every word gets said out loud, so you never have to guess.

Born and raised in Mexico City, so your kids learn real, native pronunciation.
Degrees in Spanish & Linguistics, Purdue University. This is built on how language is actually learned.
15 years teaching Spanish — to individuals, families, classrooms and co-ops.
Published author. This curriculum is an ISBN-registered book, used in homes and schools across the country.

Rather hold real books?

Spanish 1 is also in print: a five-book paperback series on Amazon (Teacher's Guide, both lesson plan volumes, both workbooks — about $106 for the set). The digital bundle here is the better deal since it includes the 29 videos and unlimited printing for every child, but if your family works best with bound books, they exist. Questions

Before you buy

Do I need to speak Spanish to teach this?
No. It was written for parents who don't. Every vocabulary word has a short video where Natalie pronounces it for you. Lesson plans tell you exactly what to say and do, and answer keys are included. Plenty of families using this don't speak a word of Spanish.
I have kids in different grades. Do I need to buy twice?
No. Every week includes two lesson plans and two worksheets (one set for K–3rd, one for 4th–8th) covering the same theme. You teach one lesson and each child works at their own level.
Is this print or digital?
It's a digital download, so you get it instantly and can print as much as you like at home, for as many of your own children as you have, for as many years as you want.
How much time does it take each week?
Lessons run about 30–45 minutes. Every week comes with two written lesson plans (one for K–3rd, one for 4th–8th) plus extra activities and resources to spread across the rest of the week — as much or as little as your schedule allows.
Can I use it in a co-op or classroom?
Yes for a single classroom or co-op group. Reproducing it for an entire school or district needs a separate school licence. Get in touch and we'll sort one out for you.
Is there religious content?
A few seasonal weeks: two around Christmas (including El Niño Jesús) and an Easter week (La Pascua). They're easy to keep or skip, whichever suits your family. For Christian families who want more, Natalie recommends adding Bible verses and worship songs in Spanish alongside the weekly lessons — it fits the curriculum's rhythm naturally.
What if we don't finish in a year?
It's yours permanently, with no expiry and no subscription. Take your time; plenty of families stretch it past 35 weeks.

The year is already planned. All that's left is to start.

A full year of Spanish for the whole family, ready to teach, from a teacher who grew up speaking it.
